Section One: The Call Released: Prayer Precedes Revival
Lesson 1: When God Listens to the Voice of Man
What moves the heart of God? There are common characteristics shared by revival intercessors and key steps in effective intercession. In this opening lesson, you’ll explore the biblical example set by the tenacious prayers of Moses. His holy arguments with God prevailed and released God to act in mercy. As you learn the consecutive steps into God’s glory, you’ll find out what turns His ear earthward to listen to the voices of men and women.
Lesson 2: The Need for Identificational Repentance—Father Forgive Us!
What is identificational repentance? How does it relate to a revival breakthrough? This lesson will teach you to confess generational sin for yourself and others, giving multiple practical examples from scripture and noteworthy leaders from the modern global prayer movement. You’ll discover the five essentials to become an effective intercessor who stands in the gap. Potent prayers of cleansing close out this pivotal teaching.
Lesson 3: Creating an Opening
Mark 2:1–5 presents a case study on how to “Blow the Roof Off the House” and “Welcome Jesus into Your Home.” The path to visitation is paved with three primary keys of prayer, the prophetic, and the presence of God. You’ll be challenged by an amazing dream encounter in which James was called to nourish the “bread of His presence.” This lesson will invite you to become a co-laborer with the Holy Spirit to create an opening for God’s abiding presence.
Section Two: Sacrifice Releases Power: Fasting
Lesson 4: Practical Aspects of Fasting
What does it mean to fast? What is the scriptural basis for fasting? Does it really make a difference? Laying a solid foundation, this lesson will expose you to the various forms of fasting and the profound blessings released from this sacrifice. Every practical aspect of fasting is covered including when to fast, how to fast, and numerous examples of astounding results that have come from fasting.
Lesson 5: Fasting for Crisis Intervention
Fasting with prayer has held off judgment, averted disaster, freed prisoners and brought forth healing and deliverance. In this lesson, you will explore five Old Testament examples of how crisis circumstances were met with desperate, radical responses which released God’s intervention. When major crises are met with the power of corporate, unified fasting, God’s remedy comes forth. This is true in scripture, throughout church history, and it is still true today.
Lesson 6: Fasting Releases God’s Presence and Power
The book of Joel describes extreme desolation but ends with complete and total restoration. What conditions must be met in order to receive God’s promises of the outpouring of the Spirit upon all peoples, signs and wonders, and a great cry for salvation? This lesson reveals a biblical correlation between consecration, fasting and the unprecedented release of God’s manifest presence that will flood planet earth in the Last Days.
Section Three: Historic Revival Characteristics
Lesson 7: Gatekeepers of His Presence
In the natural, gates are used for two primary purposes: 1) to keep things or persons out, and 2) to let things or persons in. As it is in the natural, so it is in the spiritual. In this strategic lesson, you will learn to appropriately steward spiritual gates, looking at the biblical examples set by Abraham, Jacob, David and our Lord Jesus Christ. Breakers have keys to open doors and gates. You will discover how to become a gatekeeper of your mind, soul and spirit and how to be a carrier of God’s brilliant presence.
Lesson 8: Possessed by God!
Revival breakthrough is more than good theology, it is meant to become a lifestyle that is experienced. God wants to inhabit you so that you fully carry His characteristics. What does it mean to be “possessed by God?” This lesson highlights numerous examples from scripture and church history, including James’ transforming personal testimony of meeting Samuel Howells (son of Rees Howells) at the Swansea Bible College in Wales. You will not want to miss this powerful session.
Lesson 9: Classic Characteristics of Revival
Revival restores to life, bringing vigor and strength to something that appears to be dead or is dead. But what are the signs that authentic revival breakthrough has come? What are the reactions and responses that often occur when real revival shows up on the scene? In this lesson, you’ll identify the “Five Classic Characteristics of Revival” and discover the key preliminary stages that pave the way to genuine awakening. You will be challenged to a place of personal fervency and stirred to fresh fire in your own life.
Section Four: Awakening, Transformation, Reformation: Rehearsing Prophetic Promises
Lesson 10: Revival Manifestations and Phenomena
What phenomena can be expected when revival shows up? This lesson provides a holistic view on the subject including historical, philosophical, psychological, sociological, anthropological, theological and practical dimensions. Are these responses biblical? What is the long-term fruit? Should these phenomena be considered normal after revival? Do people become revival junkies or go on to live Christ-like lives? You will deepen your understanding of God’s ways and lay a foundation for revival to become part of your daily life.
Lesson 11: Prophetic Promises for the Great Harvest
Jesus prophesied in Matthew 13 that the wheat and tares would grow up together until the harvest. Are there other biblical promises regarding a Great End-Time Harvest? What other significant prophetic words have come forth over the years about what is coming? James has walked with some of the greatest prophets in modern history. In this lesson, he shares stories of some of the powerful prophetic words they have released.
Lesson 12: Thy Kingdom Come! From Revival to Reformation to Transformation
In this culminating lesson, James calls forth the Third Great Awakening that leads to radical reformation and transformation. What is Jesus looking for and what does this require? The answer lies in you fulfilling the model prayer of Jesus until His Kingdom comes on earth as it is in heaven. The glory of the Lord will cover the earth as the waters cover the seas. Biography
Dr. James W. Goll is the founder of God Encounters Ministries. He is an international bestselling author, a certified Life Language Coach, an adviser to leaders and ministries and a recording artist. James has traveled around the world ministering in more than fifty nations sharing the love of Jesus, imparting the power of intercession, prophetic ministry, and life in the Spirit.
